Mayabunder Nov.19: Legal awareness camp organized at new Court Building at Lucknow, Mayabunder by district Legal service authority, A & N Islands. The Hon’ble Justice Nishita Mhatre, High Court at Calcutta was the chief gust and the Hon’ble Justice Joymalya Bagchi, High Court at Calcutta was the special gust in the occasion. The welcome speach was delivered by Shri Ayan Kumar Banerjee, hon’ble CJM of Mayabunder and the Gusts addressed to the gathering and put light on POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual offence). Hon’ble Justice Siddhartha Kanjilal, District and session Judge and Chairman, District Legal Service Authority, A & N Islands also addressed the crowd about the POCSO. Beyond the above personnel, Dy, SP (Diglipur), AC (Rangat), Adyaksha (Zilla Parishad) N & M Andaman, PRI Members, Member of Bar association, Students of MG College, school and general public attended the programme. The programme was concluded by vote of thanks by Shri Sukumar Mondal, JMFC, Mayabunder.
The new Court building will start function from 21 November, Monday and the general public can utilize the service of the CJM & JMFC from the new court building only. The Old Court building with the service of JMFC started during 1st April 1975 and it was upgraded to CJM during 10thFebruary 2012. Now it is also learn that the Additional District and Session Court will start functioning in the new building very soon.
