Diglipur, Nov 07: In a yet another incident of domestic violence because of alcohol, an old couple was inhumanly beaten up by their own son at Kalighat area of North Andaman recently.
According to reports the accused went back home under heavy influence of liquor and after an argument over minor issue he started beating his father and mother with a stick.
Both the parents were later hospitalized from where the 60 years old father was discharged from Kalighat PHC but the 58 years old mother was referred to CHC Kalighat.
The PS Kalighat made a challan against the accused in a preventive measure and he was later produced before the Sub Divisional Magistrate at Diglipur today.
At present all bars of Kalighat are closed for not maintaining proper hygiene, meanwhile people of the area are already demanding to keep all the bars closed for ever. This accused had reportedly consumed liquor from Diglipur Bazaar.
