Port Blair, Sept 26: A strong rumour of Fire in an Aircraft of Andaman Nicobar Command today took everyone in city by surprise. The rumour spread like wild fire in the afternoon as well as at late evening hours.
Some people went to the extend of claiming to see flames erupting from a small aircraft of ANC, as soon as it landed at INS Utkrosh.
When Andaman Sheekha team called up the PRO unit of ANC, a senior officer of ANC, who does not want his name to be quoted, maintained that no incident of fire was reported today at INS Utkrosh. However, he added that a Flight Safety Inspection Team of Navy today visited INS Utkrosh to check response timing of response team, which might have triggered such rumors.
However, no official release has been received by ANC yet, in this regard.
