Port Blair, Sept 26: An one meter long female Crocodile weighing around 5 kg was rescued from a fishing pond at Bengali Basthi, Manpur this afternoon at around 02:00pm.
On information a team of Forest Department under the overall supervision of Deputy Ranger, Manjit Singh rushed to the spot and rescued the Crocodile.
As per reports, the Crocodile has been shifted to the Zoo but the Crocodile is presently under treatment as it is learnt that the Crocodile is suffering from some eye injuries.
The same team of Forest Department has also rescued a Deer while patrolling at Wandoor area yesterday at around 01:30pm. As per sources, the Deer was attacked by a Dog and was injured.
