Campbell Bay, Sept 25: The Ship MV Campbell Bay, which is on its way to Port Blair via Campbell Bay had to delay its departure from Campbell Bay because of a scene created by the Fishermen Association and some businessmen under the leadership of B Venkat Rao, Zilla Parishad Member.
The high drama caused one hour delay in sailing of MV Campbell Bay.
As per sources from the Island, the ship was already full with Cargo and thus the ship officials refused to carry any additional cargo onboard, considering the safety of passengers which left Fishermen Association and some businessmen unhappy.
It is learnt that later the Block Development Officer and other higher authorities of the islands rushed to the Campbell Bay Jetty and after some discussions with the ship authorities the ship officials agreed to carry the cargo after which the planned protest was called off and the ship sailed for Port Blair later at around 06:00pm.
However as per reliable sources, just because of the pressure of the ZP member and the businessmen of the area the Captain has taken a huge risk and has loaded extra Cargo.
It is still not clear that how come the DSS has allowed the ship to sail carrying extra cargo.
The question arises here is that if any untoward incident takes place in the mid-sea then who should be held responsible for that, the Captain of the Ship or the Andaman Nicobar Administration?
