Port Blair, July 26: The Electricity Department have received 94,600 Nos. LED Bulbs (9 Watt) and another consignment of 1,50,000 Nos. LED Bulbs (9 Watt) will be reaching by end of July. These LED bulbs will be distributed to all the domestic consumers @ 4 LED bulbs on payment of Rs. 10/- for each LED bulbs and the consumer has to handover 4 Nos. Ordinary Bulbs (60 Watt) or CFL (20 Watt) or higher rating to the distributing authority. This programme is undertaken under DELP-SOP Programme launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
The date of distribution of LED bulbs will be informed through Press and other media and through PRI Institution in the rural villages in other Islands. The distribution will normally be from each site-offices of Electricity Department, however if required the different centre will be identified for smooth distribution in consultation with departmental official and PRI members. The consumers need to produce latest bill payment receipt before receiving the LED bulbs.
