Port Blair, June 14: The Resident Doctors & Tutors of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) organized a voluntary blood donation camp (VBD Camp) in associated with the A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) at Blood Bank, G B Pant Hospital on the occasion of World Blood Donor’s Day on Tuesday. Altogether, 20 Resident Doctors and Tutors voluntarily donated blood during the camp.
The VBD Camp was inaugurated by Maj.Gen.(Dr) R.P. Choubey (Retd), Director, ANIIMS. In his address, he emphasized the importance of blood donation and motivated the volunteers to donate blood for the noble cause. The camp was facilitated by Dr. Sahil Seghal, Medical Officer (Blood Bank), G.B. Pant Hospital. He and his team ensured the proper examination of the donors for their eligibility for blood donation. He briefed the donors on various aspect and importance of blood donation.
