Port Blair, June 14: The five-day training programme to spread community base awareness on First Aid Fire fighting & Disaster Preparedness & Medical First Aid among general public, govt. servants of various departments, employees from various business establishments, students etc got underway on Monday in the conference hall of A & N Police Fire Service Training Centre at FS (HQs) here. Altogether, 51 persons are attending the training.
In his address, the chief guest, Superintendent of Police, Fire, Mr R.K. Pandey, IPS, SP (Fire) expressed gratitude to the A&N Police Fire Service for organizing such training programme for the benefit of general public, Govt. Servants, employees of private establishments, students etc. and appreciated all the participants for attending the course enthusiastically. He also spoke about fire prevention, safety aspects and combat the situation of eventuality while in home, office, Hotel/Restaurants etc. Further, he appealed the participants to learn and gain adequate knowledge during the training programme which would help to build the capacity of individuals for responding any emergency during the survival time takes for reaching Fire Services to the scene of fire.
Welcoming the participants, the Chief Fire Officer, A&N Islands, Mr B. Saigal briefed about the main components of the training programme for sensitizing and to educate the participants about various fire prevention and protection aspects in different eventuality, use of First Aid Fire Fighting equipments and its refilling/maintenance, Do’s and Don’ts during incipient stage, which could avert any major mishap.
