Port Blair, June 7: National Sample Survey Office, Government of India, Port Blair will organise an Essay Competition and a Quiz contest for college students as a part of celebration of Statistics Day on June 29 on the theme “Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare”. Interested students have been requested to approach the NSSO office along with their college/university Identity card to register their names for the competition/competitions on or before June 17, 2016.
The subject of the Essay Competition will be “Production and Marketing of Agricultural Commodities in India with special focus on Andaman & Nicobar Islands : Present Scenario, Impediments & Opportunities.” Essays should be written in about 2500 words. The winners will be awarded cash prize of Rs.2000/-(First prize), Rs.1500/- (Second prize) and 1000/-(third Prize). Essay competition will be held on June 22 from 10 am to 1 pm at NSSO office, Kendrya Sadan, Lamba Line, Port Blair.
The quiz contest broadly on the topic relevant to Economics, Statistics and on the theme of the celebration. Quiz contest will be held on June 24 from 10 am to 1 pm at the NSSO office. The winners will be awarded cash prize of Rs.1500/-(First prize), Rs.1000/- (Second prize) and 500/-(third Prize).
