Port Blair, May 17: With a view to incorporate learning from the experience of other coastal states in promoting and regulating adventure Water Sports and to elicit views and suggestions from all concerned departments and stakeholders, the Directorate of Tourism will be organising a workshop on “Regulation of Water Sports in A & N Islands” on 20th May, 2016 at 10.00 AM in the Conference Hall of Megapode Nest, Port Blair.
The workshop will be attended by the department heads, representatives/operators of Adventure Water Sports in the Islands besides expert from National Institute Water Sports, Goa. The deliberations of the workshop are expected to help strengthen the existing Water Sports Policy for A & N Islands, to asses requirements of capacity building of stake holders, draw guidelines of demarcation of water sports area, introduction of new Water Sports Activities and thus promote safe and secure water sports tourism in the Islands.
In this regard, all stake holders of adventure water sports in the Islands who are interested in attending the workshop may register their names with Smt Alvelumanga, HKAM in the Directorate over phone (234060) on or before 19.05.2016.
