Port Blair, April 3: The week long Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign launched by Cyber Cell (CID) of Andaman & Nicobar Police concluded on Saturday with an inter college Techno-Quiz competition at ASI Auditorium. During the weeklong celebration, Police Personnel from all Police Stations in Andaman & Nicobar Islands conducted seminars, lectures and presentations at Schools, Colleges, Gram Sabhas and Port Blair Municipal Council Office. Educative banners were installed at several places in entire A & N Islands. Informative Posters were also installed inside ATM Centers of various banks for educating public about DOs & DONTs while using ATM machine and ATM Cards.
Six teams comprising two participants from leading colleges of these islands participated in the Inter College Quiz Competition. Mr Subodh Kr. Goswami, Dy. Superintendent of Police (CID) inaugurated the event which was graced by Mr. Atmaram Deshpande, Superintendent of Police (CID) as the chief guest. Mr Surya Teja and Mr Chandran of Dr. BRA Institute of Technology secured 1st position in the event while Mr Shantanu Singh and Mr Chandran of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkiya Mahavidyala and Mr Ajay M Gaikwad and Mr Rukmini Shekar of Pondicherry University bagged the second and third positions respectively. Inspector Naveen Kumar, CDI, Police Training School was the Quiz Master on the occasion. The 3 winning teams were awarded trophies and cash prize by the chief guest who also briefed the gathering about Cyber Crime and its preventive measures.
