Port Blair, Mar 31: Vikas Ki Nayi Udaan exhibition was inaugurated on THE 31ST OF March 2016 at 4.00 PM by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray. The exhibition was organized at a prime location of Andaman Club at the heart of the city.
Smt. Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Shri Vijaya Kumar Bidhuri, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Smt. Sheela Singh, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Corporation, Shri Subir Chander, Upadhyakshak, Zilla Parishad, S.Andaman graced the well attended function.
Shri Ray, MP lauded the efforts of DAVP in disseminating the information about various welfare schemes of the Government of India. He appreciated the idea of holding exhibitions with interesting photographs.
Smt. Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman thanked DAVP for holding an exhibition propagating the schemes of Government of India. She wished that such exhibitions are held at rural districts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands too.
Smt. Sheela Singh, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Corporation said the exhibition said the exhibition is an enlightening effort as one gets to know so much about the welfare schemes of the Government of India. She underlined the importance of such exhibitions and called upon the public to support them. She felt it will be benefitting the public more if the exhibitions are held all over the A&N Islands.
Shri Subir Chander UpAdhyakshak, Zilla Parishad, S.Andaman thanked Government of India and DAVP in particular for holding an exhibition of this caliber. Pictorial depictions and descriptions about the welfare schemes that benefit the public were exemplary, he felt. Shri M. Ravi Kumar, Assistant director DAVP, Chennai proposed vote of thanks.
The photo exhibition, which is being held at Andaman Club, Opposite to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose stadium, will be open to public till the 6th of April from 2-7 PM. The exhibition is being organized by the Port Blair Unit of DAVP, a wing of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of Government of India. (PIB)
