Port Blair, Mar 18: The seven-day residential special camp of National Service Scheme organised at Atam Pahad by NSS (Unit-I) of JNRM concluded on Friday. The Secretary, Education, Smt Tanvi Garg graced the valedictory function held in the Community Hall, Atam Pahad as chief guest. In her address, Smt Garg said that that such camps contribute a lot in personality development during student life. She appreciated the NSS unit of JNRM for organising the camp for the first time. She also said that the camp venue and the surroundings are an ideal place for camping. She distributed certificates and trophies to the participant volunteers and winners in the patriotic group song competition in which Dependu Das, Uday Kumar Das and Augustina group won the first, second and third prizes respectively.
Mr Amit Kumar, State NSS officer and Director incharge, Sports and Youth Affairs was the guest of honour in the function. Dr.N Francis Xavier, Principal JNRM, Smt Rubana Aziz Ward Councillor, Mr Suresh Kumar, Deputy Director Education, Mr Kundan Lal, Youth Coordinator NYK, Mr Shambu Nath, village representative also attended the function as special guests. Camp volunteer Ms. B.Anitha presented the camp report on the occasion. The Programme Officer Dr. Kandimuthu proposed the vote of thanks. NSS volunteer and the camp leader Dipankar Dey coordinated the programme.
