Port Blair, Mar 18: Annual Sports of JNRM started on 15th March 2016 with Cross Country events. Competitions for 26 athletics events were conducted on 16th and 17th March 2016 in the college ground. Principal JNRM Dr. Francis Xavier inaugurated the event by unfurling the college sports flag and took salute from a colorful march past. The finals of 100m for boys & girls, High Jump, Relay Races where conducted including 100m races for faculty members.
The sports meet came to a close with the prize distribution ceremony. Mr. N. Eswaran of BPE II and Miss. Manisha Kumari of BPE I won the individual championship for boys and girls respectively. Department of Physical Education lifted the overall championship and Commerce department won the runners-up trophy. Students who won medals in National Level Championships in different games and sports were also given mementos during the ceremony.
The entire Sports meet was coordinated by Shri. Saji Joseph, HOD, Physical Education. Dr. Manju Nair & Smt. Leelamani were the commentators and Dr. Laly Joseph proposed the vote of thanks.
