Port Blair, Feb 02: The Ministry of Finance, GoI, Central Pension Accounting Office, New Delhi has been receiving various applications from Central Civil Pensioners/ Family Pensioners and Registered Welfare Organisations related to pension problems like how to get duplicate PPO in case of missing of original PPO, commencement of family pension to spouse or dependent children after the death of pensioner, transfer of pension account from one bank/branch to another bank/branch.
But above complaints are not attended immediately by banks because their bank pass books do not have PPO numbers. To obviate this situation all the Banks have been instructed by Govt. of India to endorse the PPO number in the bank pass book.
The ex-Servicemen, widows of ex-servicemen and NOK of these islands are advised to approach their bank branch dealing with pension payment and request to enter the PPO number in their personal records and mark the same in the passbook.
