Port Blair, Jan 7: The Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Smt Minati Biswas met the Secretary (Education) recently and raised various issues relating to Part-Time Craft Instructors and Contract Teachers engaged under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan. The Adhyaksha requested Secretary (Education) to initiate necessary steps for salary hike of the Part-Time Craft Instructors and Contract Teachers engaged under SSA as presently the salaries of these staff are much less compared to their counterparts in other States/UTs.
She also urged the requested for necessary action for regularization of the services of Part-Time Craft Instructors, who are continuously working in the department from last 10 years. The Adhyaksha also apprised the Secretary (Education) about shortage of Physical Education Teachers in various schools of Andaman & Nicobar Administration due to which the students of these islands are finding it difficult to groom themselves in Sports activities.
The Secretary (Education) assured the Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman of timely redressal of the issues on priority.
