Port Blair, Jan 5: The President, ANTCC, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Lt. Governor to take necessary steps to ensure berthing of big passenger vessels at Katchal for the benefit of the residents. In a letter, Mr Sharma said that people of Katchal have to reach Kamorta Island to avail boat services. The Congress party has been regularly highlighting the problems being faced by Katchal residents particularly women and children due to non-berthing of vessels. The jetty at Katchal has been completed and ready for berthing of both smaller and larger ships, said Mr Sharma requesting the intervention of the LG.
