Havelock, November 23: NCC Cadets of Government Senior Secondary School, Havelock conducted a Safai Abhiyan to mark the NCC Day at Krishna Nagar Village, Havelock 6.5 kms.
Total 25 number of cadets lead by NCC care taker Mr Prakash Howladar. The principal GSSS Havelock Mr Pravash Mondal and the school teacher Mr Pravash Roy, Mr Ajay kumar Roy, Mr Naveen Kumar Pandey also participated in the Safai Abhiyan. The Gram Pradhan , Govind Nagar village Mr Ajit Kumar Roy and Mrs Sikha Mistry, Gram Pradhan, Shyam Nagar village of Havelock lsland also participated in the Safai Abhiyan.
A vast area was polluted with solid plastic bottles, plastic packets, glass bottles, silver coated paper plates and many more things which are non biodegradable and very much harmful to the fragile ecosystem of Havelock lsland, such garbage were collected in the bags.
The programme was concluded by a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs Sikha Mistry, Gram Pradhan, Shayam Nagar village, Havelock.
