Port Blair, Nov 16: The Zonal Chief Engineer of Andaman and Nicobar Command has been declared winner of All India Engineers Zonal Trophy 2014-15. The achievement is significant, coming in the face of intense competition among 33 Zones of Military Engineering Service across the country, wherein all other Zones are on mainland, and have easier and faster access to resources. Most of the zones also get more working days to complete their projects due to relatively lesser interference from weather. Despite these challenges, this achievement particularly highlights the concerted efforts of the entire staff of Chief Engineer Andaman and Nicobar Zone as well as users and stakeholders towards expeditiously progressing numerous infrastructure and works projects at the remotely located and widely dispersed Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Award of the coveted Trophy is a culmination of effective planning and timely execution of works, high standards of contract and human resources management, financial prudence and seamless E-tendering of large number of projects.
Under the guidance of Vice Admiral Pradeep K Chatterjee PVSM, AVSM, NM, Commander-in-Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command, all elements of ANC will continue to strive to create high quality infrastructure as planned, without time and cost overruns in this eastern maritime frontier of the Nation.
