Port Blair, Nov 11: The Chairperson, Municipal Council, Smt Sheela Singh has issued a clarification to a news report published in a section of the local media on Nov 4, 2015. In the rejoinder, Smt Singh said that her statement over phone was misinterpreted and the Council has taken no decision till date for making the Junglighat Sunday Market a permanent feature and construction of Kiosk for the Sunday Market. “My statement was in the context was in the context of Fish market at Junglighat. The fisheries department has been allotted a piece of land opposite the existing fish market, where a fish market will be constructed. The PBMC has proposed to construct parking and other facilities adjoining to the new fish market,” Smt Singh clarified.
