Port Blair, Nov 11: The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Government of India, Kolkata in association with the Department of Art and Culture, A & N Administration, will organize NAVODIT-a Festival of Music and Dance from Nov 13-15, 2015 in the city. Renowned Classical dancers and Singers Meenakshi Medhi (Sattriya) Arunima Sengupta (Kathak), Ismita Halder (Kuchipudi), Sparsha Shenoy (Bharatnatyam), Ratna Mukherjee (Rabindra Sangeet) and others will perform during the three-day festival. Classical artists from these islands will also perform at the festival.
The festival will be inaugurated on Nov 13 in the auditorium of the Anthropological Survey of India, Middle Point at 6 pm followed by performances. On Nov 14, the visiting artistes and others will perform at the Amphitheatre; Anarkali at 6 pm. The three day festival will conclude with the performance of the artists from mainland and island at the Hasmatabad Community Hall, South Andaman on Nov 15. The general public have been requested to witness and enjoy the scintillating performances of classical dancers and singers during the festival.
