Port Blair, Oct 26: The Directorate of Education, A & N Administration will organize the 61st SGFI 2015 National School Football Championship for Girls U-17 at Netaji Stadium and JNRM Football Ground from Nov 21-29, 2015. About 24 state teams from all over the country are expected to take part in the mega event. A coordination meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary (Education) was conducted with Zonal officers, senior officers of Education department, Department of Sports, SAI and Head of the Institutions and a meeting under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary (Edn) was also conducted with the Heads of Department for better coordination and smooth organization of the mega event.
For selection of Island Football U-17 Girls team preliminary selection trial was conducted in all nine Educational zone of A & N Islands by the selection committee and selected 64 outstanding players and to select best 22 players a final selection trial was conducted at Port Blair from Oct 17-20, 2015 and subsequently one month residential coaching camp for 22 selected players has commenced at Netaji Stadium and JNRM football ground from Oct 21 under the supervision of SAI football Coach & Football Coach from SSC.
