Port Blair, Oct 26: The President, Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Lt Governor to consider re-chartering of MV Samsun or any other passenger vessel for the benefit of the residents of the southern group of islands. In a letter to the Lt. Governor, Mr Sharma said that the administration chartered MV Samsun for providing passenger service between Port Blair and the southern group of islands and the decision benefited a huge population residing in Port Blair, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Nancowry group of Islands and Campbell Bay. But after the contract expired, the totally air-conditioned vessel with adequate space for passengers and cargo, returned back, he said requesting the Lt. Governor to re-charter the vessel for the benefit of the southern group of islands.
