Port Blair, Aug 19: The nominations for Panchayat & Municipal Elections, 2015 commenced on Wednesday at 11 am by respective Returning Officers. On the first day, no nomination was filed for PBMC constituencies. The nominations for Zilla Parishad Constituencies of Port Blair, Ferrargunj, Little Andaman & Campbell Bay under South Andaman District and Rangat, Mayabunder & Diglipur of North & Middle Andaman District have also been Nil.
Altogether, 2 Nominations were received for the post of Gram Pradhan one each for Namunaghar & Brindaban under Ferrargunj Tehsil of South Andaman District, while for Panchayat constituencies of Port Blair, Little Andaman, Rangat, Mayabunder Diglipur, & Campbell bay Tehsils, nominations have been Nil. Nomination forms were collected by many interested parties from respective Returning Officer, said the Additional District Magistrate, South Andaman in a release.
