Port Blair: Aug 14: The following Police officer/personnel of A & N Police, Fire Service and Home Guard Organization have been awarded with President Police medal for Distinguish service, Police/Fire Service medal for Meritorious service and Home Guard and Civil Defense Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day, 2015.
Mr K.Mohammed Basheer joined the A & N Police as constable in the year 1981. He was promoted to the rank of Head Constable (1988), Asstt. Sub-Inspector (1997), Sub-Inspector (2003) and as Inspector in the year 2011. Inspector K. Mohammed Basheer has been continuously rendering excellent services in the Accounts Branch of the Police Head Quarters for the past 29 years. In the absence of the post of Accounts Officer and Financial Advisor, he has been shouldering the responsibility as Accounts Officer/Financial Advisor of the Department. He has shown exemplary leadership while looking after multifarious tasks in Accounts Branch, where accounts affairs of the entire police department are being dealt. He is also looking after preparation of plan and non-plan proposals, monitoring of the funds for proper utilization. He has excellent knowledge in the field of accountancy and book keeping.
Mr K.Mohammed Basheer has shown impeccable integrity, extraordinary dedication, high standard of discipline, sincerity and responsibility in supervision of accounts and planning branch. With his honesty in handling accounts worth several crores and cash alongwith close and strict supervision over staff posted under him, he has ensured efficient and proper functioning of the accounts branch without giving any room for misappropriation of funds or major audit objections. His extraordinary and unswerving efforts in leading the accounts branch is highly commendable.
In recognition of his extreme sense of dedication and continuous outstanding performance and unblemished service record, Mr K.Mohammed Basheer has been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service during the year 2009. In recognition to his services, Mr K.Mohammed Basheer, Inspector of A&N Police is awarded with “President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service” on the occasion of Independence Day-2015.
Mr Fabian William joined the Police Radio Organization, A&N Police as a Radio Operator in the rank of “Head Constable Radio Operator” during the year, 1987. As a Radio Operator, he has been deployed and has discharged his duty in Signal Centre, Police Control Room, Raj Niwas and L.O.P including stations in Southern and North & Middle Andaman Islands. He was transferred from Police Radio Mayabunder to Police Radio Head Quarter Port Blair in August, 2013.
He was deployed to perform anti-poaching duty along with armed Police patrolling party on Police Boat M.V Sahayak and maintained communication with Police Radio Head Quarter during the course of operation resulting in the patrolling party apprehending 12 foreign poachers from the sea-shore of Tarmugli Island.
He has shown his dedication and responsibility towards government duties during the Tsunami which had occurred on 26th December 2004. While he was posted at P.R Baratang as a Station Officer, he was informed about his elder daughter who was reportedly missing from Car Nicobar, but he did not leave the station and maintained round the clock communication with PR HQ and nearby PR Stations by installing communication equipments in an open area as the PR building/family quarters sustained several cracks due to frequent tremors.
During his entire service, he has been awarded with commendation certificates with cash rewards. His dedication towards his duties during General Election-2014 held at A&N Islands has been appreciated by the Senior Officers of A&N Police. Presently he is holding the post of Inspector Operational and serving to A & N Police Radio Organization with dedication and sincerity and his exceptional work in organizing and maintaining the operational staff under the overall supervision of the Police Radio Officer has been highly appreciated.
In recognition of his long and continuous high sense of dedication, sincerity and professionalism, Shri Fabian William, Inspector Operational of Police Radio is awarded with “Police Medal for Meritorious Service” on the occasion of Independence Day, 2015.
Sub-Inspector K.N. Mishra joined A&N Police as Constable on 09.02.1982. After completion of his basic training of constabulary on 1983 he was posted at SAP. On 1983, he was posted at OP Pahargaon and in the year 1983, he joined PS Dundus Point and during his posting at Police Station he performed Law and Order duties and helped Officers in their investigation.
Due to his hard working nature, he got his first promotion of Head Constable in the year 1988 and was posted to PS Aberdeen where he showed good work and further on March 2003, he was once again promoted as Assistant Sub- Inspector. In PS Aberdeen he was entrusted investigation of IPC Cases and he discharged his responsibilities to the full satisfaction of his superiors.
In the year 2008 he was promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector and was posted to PS Billiground as Station House Officer. During his posting as SHO PS Billiground and PS Bambooflat he had shown great efficiency in discharge of his duties.
For his high order of discipline, dedication and devotion towards Govt. duties, he has been awarded with 24 Commendation Certificates along with cash reward at different times. In recognition of his consistent efficient performance with highest level of honesty, integrity and discipline, Sub-Inspector Shri K.N. Mishra of A&N Police is awarded with “Police Medal for Meritorious Service” on the occasion of Independence Day – 2015.
Mr Dilip Karmakar, S/o Shri Radharaman Karmakar joined the A & N Police Fire Service in the year 1983 as Constable (Fireman). He functioned as Fireman (PC) from 1983 for more than 06 years. Thereafter, he was promoted to the rank of Head Constable (Leading Fireman) in 1989, Asst. Sub-Inspector in 1992 and to the Sub-Inspector on 21/09/1999. His contribution to the A&N Police Fire Service while posted at various Fire Stations as Fireman, Leading Fireman, Asst. Sub-Inspector and Sub- Inspector is remarkable as he attended fire calls and other emergency calls in an efficient manner and minimized the losses. During his service period he has been posted at various Fire Stations as Station Officer. Being Station Officer of a Fire Station, he has discharged his duties in most efficient manner. He has kept all the appliances, equipments and man power under his charge in good manner and in readiness for any Fire calls/ Emergencies Calls. Under his leadership, the Fire Station attended many Fire Calls/Emergencies Calls in an efficient manner and saved valuable properties of general public. He worked very hard and sincerely thereby gaining good name as well as 12 commendation certificates & 11 cash rewards during his service period. His sincere efforts in maintaining discipline of Fire Station, better up-keep, maintenance of Fire Vehicles, equipments and records of Fire Stations earned him appreciation from all corners.
In order to recognize his valuable contribution to the efficient functioning of various Fire Stations under his charge, his case has been awarded with Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Services.
Mr Alban, S/o Shri Titus joined as Constable (Fireman) in A & N Police Fire Service on 23/02/1981 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Head Constable (Leading Fireman) on 20/06/1989. His contribution to the A & N Police Fire Service while posted at various Fire Stations as Fireman and Leading Fireman is remarkable as he attended fire calls in a most efficient manner and minimized the losses. He has rendered more than 26 years of service in the rank of Head Constable (Leading Fireman). He was instrumental in developing the station premises. As a leading Fireman (Head Constable), he has discharged his duties in an efficient manner. He guided his crew in a disciplined manner in keeping all the equipments and appliances in a good working condition for use in case of emergencies. He worked very hard and sincerely thereby gaining a good name as well as 05 commendation certificates and 03 cash rewards during his service period. His contribution in maintaining Fire Vehicles, disciplined atmosphere at Fire Stations, skilled operation of Fire Fighting equipments during Fire Drill and Fire Fighting operation was appreciable. During the service of 34 years, he has maintained a clean service record and always gained appreciation from all corners.
In order to recognize his continuous, honest and dedicated Service of 34 years with extraordinary professional skills, his case has been awarded with Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Services.
HG(R)/39 A. Zackariyas presently attached to SP (D) Nicobar Office joined A&N Home Guard Organization as a Home Guard Volunteer on 21-03-1983. He has completed more than 31 years 11 month and 13 days of qualifying service. During the period of service, he has performed his duty in various units including Police Stations of outlying areas. He performed his duties by assisting the local police during Law & Order situations in maintaining Police & Public relation, Traffic Bandobast duty, Anti-poaching operations search & rescue operation at the time of Tsunami, and other natural calamities. He also successfully underwent one-month orientation course on “Disaster Management” held at IRBn (HQ), Port Mout. In recognition to his sincerity and devotion towards his duties he was rewarded with Commendation Certificate Class – II with cash on several times. He is a hard worker and performing his duty dedication and honestly with the satisfaction of his superior officers.
HG(R)/39 A. Zacariyas was enrolled as Home Guard on 21-03-1983 and during his entire service he has been deployed for various law & order and watch & ward duties in the A&N Police in various units i.e. Traffic Branch, OP Wimberly Gunj, IGP Office PHQ, IP&T as Tourist Police, QMS Police Line, PS Pahargaon, APP office Mayabunder, APP Office Port Blair and SP(D) office Nicobar District. He is awarded with President’s Home Guard Medal for meritorious service on the occasion of Independence Day- 2015.
