Port Blair, July 21: A workshop on Maha Sampark Abhiyan by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held in the auditorium of Atul Smrity Samity this morning.
The BJP Prabhari, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Tarun Chugh, who is also the BJP National Secretary, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
The State President BJP, Shri Vishal Jolly and the Pramukh, Maha Sampark Abhiyan, Shri Tarango Kr. Dhali, also the State General Secretary BJP, were among others who graced the occasion.
Shri Chugh, while addressing the gathering, dwelt at length on the social security schemes of the Government, launched by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Notable among the schemes are Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana for which he appealed to all party workers, to enroll at least 500 persons each in the schemes so that the benefit of the scheme could reach the common man.
Shri Vishal Jolly expressed satisfaction over the membership registration process and said that the membership may cross 50,000, if party workers continue their efforts in meeting people and enroll them as members. He also stressed the need for continuous contact with the members and to highlight the Government’s achievements in the last one year.
