Port Blair, July 12: A two day Annual State Open Chess Championship concluded at Hotel TSG, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair today the 12th July 2015. The top three positions were bagged by K Neelkantham (Forest Dept), Koteshwar Rao a college student and Anugrah Nair, student of Mahatma Gandhi International School.The championship was organized by Andaman Nicobar chess association.
Earlier the Vice President, All India Chess Federation (AICF) Shri. Bhasker inaugurated the chess tournament on 11th July, 2015. Altogether 90 players participated in the event from different walks of life.
A prize distribution ceremony was organized where Shri H Dinesh ,International Arbitor (IA) presented a tournament report . The selected players will represent the National B Championship which is to be held from 16th -27th August 2015 at Nagpur. The tournament concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Sasi Kumar.
