Diglipur, June 10: The Chairman and the members of the Study Group of Sustainable Development of the Islands visited Diglipur today morning. During their visit to the North Andaman, they had a meeting with the Assistant Commissioner, North Andaman, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman, Pramukh, Diglipur, PRI members and HODs. Issues pertaining to various development activities such as development of air strip at Shibpur, Agriculture, Fisheries and other developmental issues pertaining to North Andaman were discussed during the meeting.
Thereafter, the Study Group visited Mayabunder wherein they had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Up Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, N&M Andaman, Pramukh, Mayabunder, PRI members and heads of department/offices of Mayabunder Tehsil. Issues pertaining to various sectors viz. Fisheries, Agriculture, Telephone and Broadband connectivity, Tourism, Education, Sports etc were discussed in detail and the suggestions for the overall development were deliberated upon by all present.
