Rampur, Feb 02: Smti. Vijaya Laxmi Headmistress, Middle School Rampur, Mayabunder retired on 31st January 2015. In November 1979, she had joined as GTT, (Home Science)in Govt. Senior Secondary School Swadesh Nagar . She served long 36 years in the Education Department, During her service she served in various schools in Andaman & Nicobar Islands viz Govt. Boys School, Port Blair, Govt. S.S.School Port Maout, Govt.S.S.School, Mayabunder, she served in Onge Settlement as teacher and social worker. She retired as a Headmistress on 31/01/2015 from Govt. Middle School, Rampur. On 26thJanuary 2015 she was given away Commissioner’s Commendation Certificate by the Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman for her excellent service carrier.
From the beginning she was very devoted in her profession and proved herself in every occasion as best teacher. She was always used to engage her in developing new ideas which could help the student community and thus she was always popular among the students as well as among the teaching community.
Beyond the school boundary, she always took care the poor students and use to visit their house to know their problems.
