Port Blair, Feb 02: Bringing the attention of the Chairman, 7th Central Pay Commission, Member Secretary 7th CPC, New Delhi with copy to the Chief Secretary, AN Administration, and Secretary Cum Director, Directorate of Transport, Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, State Transport Employees Union through a letter has submitted the genuine demand of “Bus Conductors” working in the Directorate of Transport under A & N Administration for up-gradation of their Grade Pay from Rs. 1800/- to Rs. 1900/- as there exist disparity in scale of pay of Bus Conductors of the Transport Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands when compared to their counterpart of other Union Territory like Delhi, Goa, Daman and Pondicherry and this disparity is continued since May 1977 i.e. almost for past 38 years. Since the educational qualification and duties and responsibility attached to the post of Bus Conductor in the Transport Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and that of other Union Territory like Delhi, Goa, Daman and Pondicherry are same , and thus Kuldeep has requested to upgrade the grade pay of the post of Bus Conductor in the Transport Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to Rs.1900/- in the pay band of Rs.5200-20200/- i.e. on par with Bus Conductor serving under other Union Territories.
