Port Blair, Dec 14: Bringing the entire controversy over installation of Netaji Statue, to a logical end, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration has decided to install the same Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose right opposite to the Administrative Block of Diglipur (in the front portion of Vivekananda Mini Stadium).
According to highly placed sources the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has approved to demarcate and renovate the front portion of Vivekananda Mini Stadium of Diglipur for installation of the statue and develop the area (100 sq mtrs) as a parked, which will also be named after Netaji.
Sources from Administration have told Andaman Sheekha that the statue will be installed on Netaji’s Birth Anniversary on 23 Jan, 2015.
Readers may recall that Andaman Sheekha had broke the story of Netaji Statue and the issue later took dramatic turns.
