Port Blair, Dec 04: Putting blame directly on students of other schools, the Principal of Carmel Sr. Secondary School, Sr. Maria Reshma today said that students of Carmel School, who were caught with Ganja on Tuesday, had got Ganja from students of other schools.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha today the Principal said that during investigation the students, who were carrying Ganja in School, have disclosed that they are getting Ganja from students of other schools in tuition centres.
She added that she strongly believes that a nexus is active in this matter and students are being targeted.
She requested the Police Department to investigate into this matter and place police jawans in plain cloth outside every school, especially during school closing hours.
Regarding the students, she said that two students have been suspended by the School for a week. “Even though the students are found with the material but they are not addicted and I am happy for that. Counseling session will be organised for the students when they come back. School will extend all help for the students,” she said.
She said that regular checking of school bags is carried out in school and parents are aware of that.
“I request the cooperation of parents. They should keep an eye on their children and their friend circle, so that the evil, which is done to our students through the outsiders, could be stopped,” she added.
