Port Blair, Sept 26: ‘Food Festival – 2014’ is being organized from 23rd Sept, to 28th 2014 at ITF ground, Port Blair. States Cultural Association/ Local Community groups in A & N Islands are displaying their food stalls to showcase their traditional food and cultural milieu of their state/community in this occasion. The objective of organizing such event is to popularize the Indian Traditional Food & Culture of different States/Communities among the local people apart from providing entertainment.
This time the associations/organizations representing the States of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab are participating apart from Andaman Moplah and Local Born Association. The Students of the DBRAIT also displayed their Food stall.
The ‘World Tourism Day – 2014’ is also being celebrated tomorrow with the theme “Tourism and Community Development” focusing on the ability of Tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities. At ITF Ground, students of BBA (Tourism) JNRM will present a cultural programme for the audience at around 6.00 pm. Prizes will be awarded to best food stalls of Food Festival-2014 apart from mementoes to all participants of ‘Flea market’.
