Diglipur, Sept 09: The Asst. Commissioner, Diglipur Dr. Vivek Kumar, DANICS today transferred to Port Blair as the Deputy Director, Sports, Arts and Culture.
He served as the Assistant Commissioner & Sub Divisional Magistrate, Diglipur for 28 months. He also served as Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge) of Zilla Parishad, N& M Andaman during his tenure.
This news came as a shock to the people of Diglipur Sub Division, who were closely attached to Dr. Vivek Kumar because of his down to earth nature.
In Diglipur, during his tenure, he initiated many developmental projects in various Sectors. He also introduced zero pendency of files in various revenue works. He served as a great task master during the General Elections, flood like situations, jungle fire at various places.
He also initiated Diglipur Vikas Mela and night bus service on Andaman Trunk Road during his tenure. The revenue collection of STS unit, Diglipur increased to triple by the efforts and management of Dr. Vivek Kumar. Mr. Arava Gopi Krishna, IAS (2012 Batch) will take over the charge of Asst. Commissioner, Diglipur, it is learnt.
