The General Secretary of the association Mr. Suresh Narayan today met with the Secretary Education and urged him to consider the journey period of the teachers, who are returning to their place of posting after summer vacation, on duty, so that may claim their LTC and get the benefit of the increment.
Mr. Suresh Narayan said that the last boat for the southern group was on 28th June, for which the teachers bought the tickets. But unfortunately, the sailing of the said boat M.V. Kalighat got cancelled. So the teachers of Car Nicobar had no option left than to avail the sailing of M.V. Chowra on 1st July. Mean while the teachers of Kamorta, Katchal, Campbell bay availed the sailing of M.V Samsun on 30th June and they reached today late evening, missing the opportunity of attending their duties at their respective Schools today.

Dejected by the DD(Personnel), Mr. Suresh Narayan today approached Secretary, and requested him to consider the journey period on duty, allowing the teachers to claim LTC and increment.
The Secretary assured him that the status report would be sought from the concerned DDO’s and necessary relief would be given to the teachers for the inability to reach respective stations on time for the reasons which is not under teachers’ control. He said that in future it would be ensured to get the teachers special sailing of the boats before the reopening of the Schools, to enable them to attend the duties on time.
