Port Blair, June 01: Since the physically challenged, widows and senior citizen persons are leading miserable life due to various reasons and feeling themselves neglected elements of the society as they do not have sufficient money to take care of themselves and taking concern of their pathetic condition, the PCC chief Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sent a letter of request to the Lt Governor wherein he has written that, the AN Administration has been always kind enough to such persons and time to time has raised their pension amount by granting the requests submitted by the Congress Party for the same to the Administration and these persons are now somehow able to become partially independent.
But due to price hike of all essential commodities, these persons have to sigh for small things even. Kuldeep has also written that since long the Congress Party is requesting the Administration to enhance the pension amount for the above persons from Rs. 2000/- per month to Rs 5000/- per month due to the reason of inflation.
Since the prices of all essential commodities are now becoming so high day by day that, even the middle class people are unable to procure their full monthly requirements from the market and somehow maintain their families, and under such precarious condition, the Administrator may himself feels the sinking nerves of the helpless physically handicapped, widowed and senior citizens as to how they are passing their days. Hence Kuldeep has submitted earnest request to consider enhancing the pension amount from Rs 2000/- pm to Rs 5000/ pm so that these helpless people may get some relief in these hard days.
