Diglipur, June 16: Finally after several years long official file works the land slide victims of Diglipur’s Aerial Bay area will get due compensation.
According to reports on 18th Jun 2014 the Deputy Commissioner N& M Andaman Mrs. R.Menaka , IAS will distribute the compensation for land sliding victims at 10.00 AM in the Panchayat Bhawan of Keralapuram Gram Panchayat . According to report, total 37 beneficiaries will get about Rs. 99,26,612/-
Nearly seven years back, Indian Navy was allotted land at Aerial Bay Jetty to establish their Naval Base near Aerial Bay. The work was entrusted to M/s ECIL by Indian Navy. During the developing and leveling the hills, using excavators, the earth, so removed started coming down and settling in its own course. In the month of September,2008 a major landslide occurred damaging the land and houses nearby.
