Port Blair, Apr 24: Inefficiency of CCS, unscheduled distribution of LPG cylinders and carelessness of LPG cylinder units, have left residents of New Pahargaon high a dry.
According to reports there is no schedule of arrival of LPG Cylinder distribution trucks in New Pahargaon area. Residents allege that whenever the trucks enter the area, the truck drivers are either in great hurry or are too much rude to the public.
In some cases they stop trucks far away from the residential areas and ask people to carry LPG cylinder themselves, putting old people and ladies in great trouble.
Due to such negligent attitude many people do not get LPG cylinder on time and hence they have to hire an auto or a car to bring a LPG cylinder from Brookshabad outlet.
Not only this, the telephone numbers for booking of LPG cylinders are always found engaged and hence one has to go to Bazaar to book cylinder every time.
When contacted the a senior staff of CCS, who does not want his name to be quoted, assured Andaman Sheekha that from next month the problem will be sorted out. “Because March was the closing month, staffs were too busy and were unable to book LPG over telephone.
