Port Blair, Feb 21: Under Revised National TB Control Programme, the State TB Control Society, Port Blair (STBCS) is observing ‘Anti TB Week’ from Feb 17 to 23 by conducting various IEC activities to create awareness on TB, New Treatment Strategy DOTS among the general public.
As part of this, a function was arranged in the conference hall, AYUSH Hospital here today where Dr. S. P. Burma, State TB Officer spoke on TB & New Treatment Strategy DOTS. A question answer session was also held during the programme, where Dr. Burma replied all the queries.
Meanwhile, an awareness programme for the students and teachers of GSS, South Point was arranged at Community Hall, Shadipur on Feb 19. Around 210 students including staff members attended the programme.
The Medical Officer STBCS, Dr. Reena Joshi, informed the gathering about prevention and control of tuberculosis. She along with other officers also replied queries raised by the audience during the question answer session.
