Port Blair, Feb 21: The 59th SGFI Yogasana competitions were held at Ahmedabad (Gujarat) from 16th January to 20th January 2014. all together 25 states from all over the India participated in the competitions. From our Islands also a small group of 07 girls students of Under 14 years age group has participated for the first time. Even then from our Island team came in XIth position (out of 25 states) in National level.
The team was sponsored by the Education department of our Islands, for the first time, the participants were led by Shri. Mohammed Iqbal PET, GSS Jungli Ghat and Smti. Udiya Kumari, PET from Mohammed Iqbal PET, GSS Junglighat and Smti. Udiya Kumari, PET from Mayabunder zone.
The audience of Gujarat and the team manager and coaches appreciated the Andaman student’s talents by pushing behind the leading states (Punjab), AP, Assam, Himachal, J&K, Chandigarh etc.) with developed facilities and participating since last many years.
