Port Blair, Dec 12: Just when the news regarding transfer of SP Anti-Corruption Unit, Mrs. Aslam Khan became talk of the town, the SP ASU make an excellent parting shot by arresting one more person in graft case, before leaving the Anti-Corruption Unit.
According to report, a storekeeper of Agriculture Department, Mr. D Appa Rao was caught red-handed, this evening by Anti-Corruption Department team while he was accepting a bribe of Rs. 45,000 for clearing bills of a contractor worth nearly Rs. 8 Lakhs. Appa Rao was arrested immediately and brought to ACU office. The trap was laid by Mrs Aslam Khan after receiving complaints against the accused.
This is fourth such trap case, executed by Mrs. Aslam Khan. According to reports Mrs. Khan has been transferred from ACU to Police Training School, for reasons best known to the Police Department.
