Port Blair, Oct 09: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to grant immediate interim relief to the people, affected due to tropical rain. In his letter Kuldeep has written that due to heavy tropical cyclone, normalcy of many places of AN Islands have been disrupted among which North and Middle Andaman have become the worst hit of the natural calamity.
Nonstop rain has resulted in floods in many parts of North and Middle Andaman and many other places. Hundreds of people trapped and forced to run away from their homes from North and Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, South Andaman, Neil and Havelock islands.
Heavy rainfall also caused power cut and total black out in many regions. Kuldeep has thus earnestly requested the Administrator to consider immediate interim relief to all the affected person of various places and also consider immediate evaluation of the damages of Crop and property caused due to this natural calamity and allow compensation to them. He has also requested to consider similar actions for other parts of the islands also.
