Chainpur, Nov 06: Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Chainpur, Mr. Johnson Kerketta, has raised a demand for conducting examinations at the earliest for all 207 posts advertised under the Common Graduate Level Recruitment-2025 conducted by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration and for completing the entire recruitment process without unnecessary delay. In this regard, he has written a letter dated 16 October 2026 to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, requesting early recruitment against vacant posts in all departments.
Pradhan Mr. Johnson Kerketta stated that the Administration had issued the recruitment notification on 6 November 2025. Under this recruitment online applications for a total of 207 posts commenced on 18 November 2025 and the last date for submission of applications was fixed as 17 December 2025. Thousands of educated unemployed youth from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have applied for these posts with the hope of securing government employment.
Drawing the attention of the Administration he stated that examinations should be conducted at the earliest for all 207 posts advertised under the notification. Irrespective of the department to which a post belongs, equal opportunities should be provided to all candidates who have applied for the respective posts. The examinations, results, document verification and appointment process for all posts should be completed within a time-bound schedule.
The recruitment includes posts in various departments, including the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD), Andaman and Nicobar Islands Tribal Development Scheme (AAJVS), Fisheries Department, Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Urban Local Bodies, Social Welfare Department, State Transport Services (STS), Electricity Department, Forest Department, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Office of the Labour Commissioner, Food Safety Department, Language Department and other departments.
The Pradhan said that thousands of youth have applied for these posts and many candidates have been preparing for competitive examinations for a long time. Their families have also spent considerable financial resources on their children’s education and coaching. Particularly for candidates belonging to economically weaker families, securing a government job is an important opportunity to strengthen the future and financial condition of their families.
He expressed concern that delays in the recruitment process could cause the greatest disadvantage to candidates who are approaching the prescribed upper age limit. Many young candidates have invested years of hard work and preparation in the hope of securing employment through this recruitment. Therefore the Administration should understand their circumstances and conduct the examinations at the earliest.
Mr Johnson Kerketta also stated that there is a severe shortage of staff in various government departments in North and Middle Andaman District. In several offices, a single employee has been assigned additional charge of two to three offices. This has increased the workload on existing employees and has also created difficulties for the general public in accessing government services. Filling all sanctioned vacant posts will strengthen the administrative system and ensure timely delivery of services to the public.
Major Demands Raised by Pradhan Johnson Kerketta are Examinations for all 207 posts advertised under Common Graduate Level Recruitment-2025 should be conducted at the earliest; The recruitment process for all advertised posts in all departments should be completed within a time-bound schedule, rather than being limited to any one department or a few selected posts; The examination dates, examination schedule and official information regarding the subsequent stages of recruitment should be announced at the earliest; Results, document verification and the final selection process should be completed without unnecessary delay after the examinations; All selected candidates should be provided appointments at the earliest, as per the applicable rules; Appropriate relief should be considered under the recruitment rules to protect the interests of candidates who are approaching the prescribed upper age limit and Vacant posts in all departments across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, including North and Middle Andaman, should be filled at the earliest to overcome the shortage of government staff.
The Pradhan Mr.Johnson Kerketta appealed to the Chief Secretary to take this matter seriously issue necessary directions to the concerned officers and departments and take effective steps to conduct examinations for all 207 posts under Common Graduate Level Recruitment-2025 at the earliest and complete the recruitment process without further delay.
He stated that this demand is not for any particular post, department or region, but is for the future of all educated unemployed youth who have applied for this recruitment. Keeping in view the hard work of the youth, the sacrifices made by their families and their future the Administration should take positive steps at the earliest.
