Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 06: The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC), JNRM, organized an Essay and Quiz Competition on 6 November 2026 at the Lecture Gallery, JNRM, in accordance with the initiatives of the Election Commission of India to promote electoral awareness and encourage democratic participation among students. A total of 25 students participated in the essay writing competition on the themes “Importance of Voting” and “Importance of Electoral Rolls.” The quiz competition witnessed the participation of 30 students, forming 15 teams of two members each. The competitions were inaugurated by Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, who encouraged students to actively participate in such activities and sensitized the student community about the importance of electoral awareness and responsible citizen participation in the democratic process.
Dr. R.P. Palani Samy, Coordinator ELC, has delivered introductory address and other members of the ELC, Mr. James Lunmintang Vaiphei and Dr. Dipankar Dey, moderated the essay competition, while Dr. Tamil Bharathan and Dr. Mahima Jindal moderated the quiz competition. The entire programme was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. N. Balakrishnan, Associate Professor and Coordinator, ELC, A & N Islands.
