Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Kolkata, has issued a weather warning for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the coming days, along with fishermen, farmer and port warnings.
Weather Warning: Monday, September 21: Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Tuesday, September 22: Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Wednesday, September 23: Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Thursday, September 24: Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Friday, September 25: No significant weather warning has been indicated. Saturday, September 26: No significant weather warning has been indicated.
Fishermen’s Warning: Squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40–50 kmph and occasionally gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail along and off the Andaman & Nicobar coasts during September 20 to 24, 2026. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Andaman & Nicobar coasts during the warning period. A Swell Surge Alert has been issued for the Andaman & Nicobar coast. Swell waves in the range of 16.0–18.0 seconds are forecast to peak at around 17:30 hours on September 21, 2026. The possibility of surging waves, boats plying with utmost vigilance and recreation with due care has been advised.

Port Warning: The outlook for the subsequent two days has been indicated as “Little Change.”
