Service Command, is commemorating its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of jointness, commitment, sacrifice and dedicated service to the nation.
Over the past 25 years, the Command has remained at the forefront of Military Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, including its response to the devastating Tsunami of 2004 and Operation MADAD, besides undertaking numerous search and rescue missions. ANC has also made significant contributions towards regional maritime security and safeguarding India’s maritime interests in the strategically important eastern maritime approaches and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, a series of military, sporting, welfare and community outreach activities are being organised across the Islands. The celebrations will be graced by former CINCANs, whose presence will add significance to the occasion and provide an opportunity to acknowledge their contribution to the growth and evolution of the Command.
As part of its community outreach initiatives, multi-speciality medical camps will be conducted at Baratang on 19 September 2026 and Ferrargunj on 20 September 2026, providing specialised medical consultation and healthcare services to the local population. An orphanage visit at Ferrargunj on 20 September 2026 will also be organised as part of the Command’s continued commitment towards the welfare of the local community, with assistance and support being extended to children.
An Educational Assistance Drive will be conducted from 14 to 18 September 2026 at Government schools located across major and remote islands of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The initiative is aimed at extending educational support to children and strengthening the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the island community.
A Silver Jubilee Football Competition will be conducted from 15 to 22 September 2026 at Brichgunj, with participation by serving personnel as well as residents of the Islands. The ANC Half Marathon, scheduled to be conducted on 27 September 2026, will also witness participation from the local population, promoting fitness, camaraderie and greater engagement between the Armed Forces and the people of the Islands.
A painting competition for serving personnel and their families will also form part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, providing an opportunity to showcase creativity and capture the spirit of the Command’s 25-year journey.
The main ceremonial events will be held on 05 and 08 October 2026 at Brichgunj Military Station, comprising a Wreath Laying Ceremony on 05 October and a Joint Service Parade and Flypast on 08 October 2026. The CINCAN will also release a commemorative first day cover marking the Silver Jubilee of the ANC, prior to his interaction with the media on the occasion. A special performance by the Indian Naval Symphony Orchestra will be held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) Auditorium on 07- 08 October 2026.
The Silver Jubilee celebrations will honour the personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation and will bring together veterans, serving personnel and their families, while reaffirming the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the people of the Islands.
The Silver Jubilee marks 25 years of service, sacrifice, jointness and unwavering commitment by the Andaman & Nicobar Command towards safeguarding India’s maritime interests and contributing to a secure, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
