Port Blair, Jun 26: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration with the assistance of the Staff Selection Commission, New Delhi is holding a “Open Competitive Examination” to fill-up the Group “C”, (Non Gazetted), Ministerial posts of Lower Grade Clerk in the Pay Band-I (Rs. 5200-20200) with Grade Pay Rs. 1900 in Amalgamated Clerical Cadre under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on Sunday the 15th September, 2013, for which applications are invited from eligible candidates by online registration through website.
The minimum qualification required for applying for the post is Senior Secondary examination passed from a recognized board or university. The students who have passed their secondary examination and senior secondary examination through Open School/ NIOS are suffering because of the non-availability of the pass certificate in original which is compulsorily needed for applying for the above said post however they have provisional certificates and mark sheets.
The students who have passed their senior secondary and secondary examinations from the NIOS are now doubtful whether their forms will be accepted after submission or not, many of the candidates have dropped their idea of submitting their forms because of non-availability of the pass certificates in original.
One such candidate who has passed his senior secondary examinations from NIOS talked to Andaman Sheekha regarding this and informed us that “ I had passed my senior secondary examination in the year 2012 from NIOS but I did not get my pass certificate yet and now I am doubtful whether I will be eligible for the exam.”
Andaman Sheekha contacted one of the senior officials of the Administration to know whether such candidates will be eligible or not.
On the condition of anonymity the Senior Officer told Andaman Sheekha that ”After all the applications are received they will be verified and during verification such cases will be placed in front of the administration for consideration and the administration only after that will decide whether such cases will be allowed or not.”
If this true then even in that case administration should take immediate steps and inform the candidates by means of the media to submit their applications because many of them without proper information will even drop their idea of submitting their application.
Lt. Governor should also intervene into the matter and direct the personnel department of the administration to consider such cases because they are genuinely eligible candidates but for some reasons they received original pass certificate from their board.
