Port Blair, Jun 26: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has requested the Lt. Governor to consider distribution of 10,000 laptops to the students from Class 8th to Class 12th standard in the current academic session as initial steps to promote IT culture in these
Islands.
In his letter Mr. Sharma wrote that in the rest parts of the Country, the students, who are even studying in lower standards are well acquainted in the field of information technology and while reaching to Class IX they become the master in the subject. Though the students of these islands are no less than their counterparts at mainland and
they have always proved this in the examinations of CBSE but they are having very less knowledge in the subject due to non availability of a laptop with them.
