Sri Vijaya Puram, July 29: The North & Middle Andaman District Police achieved another significant success in its ongoing anti-narcotics campaign. Acting on credible intelligence, a specialized team from Police Station Rangat executed a well-planned operation at Sabari Junction on 29 July 2026, resulting in the seizure of about 1.9 kg of suspected ganja and the arrest of a woman under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Based on specific information that the accused had arrived from Kolkata to supply ganja to local drug peddlers, a police team led by SI Abdul Shakil, I/c PS Rangat, swiftly intercepted the suspect, a resident of Nadia District, West Bengal, at Sabari Junction. The accused was immediately arrested upon the recovery of suspected ganja from her possession, and further investigation is in progress.
The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Shri Mahendra Singh Charan, DANIPS, SDPO, Rangat, and the overall supervision of Shri Vikas Swami, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
