Sri Vijaya Puram, July 05: On July 1st Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, held a meeting with Er. Prijith Rekh the Chief Engineer and Er. Tej Bahadur Superintendent Engineer of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) at Sri Vijaya Puram to discuss important infrastructure projects and road development works concerning the Harinagar Gram Panchayat.
During the meeting, Mr. Halder reviewed the progress of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) project for the construction of the rural road from the residence of Mr. Joshna Das to the residence of Mr. C.M. Adhikary at Harinagar-5. The APWD officials informed him that the proposal has progressed and is presently awaiting final approval. The Pradhan also submitted two important demands for improving road connectivity in the area. He requested the immediate repair and maintenance of the 1,000-metre village road from the residence of Mr. K.K. Roy to the residence of Mr. N.N. Roy at Pinakinagar-1 under the CRF/CRIF Scheme. He further urged the department to float tenders at the earliest for the repair and maintenance of the village road connecting T.V. Kulam to Kamlapur under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The Chief Engineer and Superintendent Engineer reportedly assured Mr. Halder that the department would take the necessary steps to expedite the approval and execution of these works. Mr. Halder emphasized that these roads are essential for the daily movement of residents and appealed for their timely completion to benefit the people of the area.
